Marchers are inviting Martial Law on Independence Day : Raja Ashfaq Sarwar

Minister Labour Raja Ashfaq SarwarLahore: Punjab Minister for Labour & Human Resource, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, has said that on our 68thIndependence Day, all Pakistanis should pledge that they would utilize their capabilities and potentials for strengthening of democracy, supremacy of constitution and economic development of the country and would not allow anyone to disrupt or sabotage the process of revival of economy, development and solidarity of the democratic system by staging so called long or revolution marches.  He added that PML (N) government has a solemn pledge and commitment that it would get the country out of all type of crisis like terrorism, load shedding, unemployment and poverty and with this commitment PML (N) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would continue its journey to bring a meaningful change for the betterment of people of Pakistan.

He expressed these views while addressing on the occasion of fireworks demonstration held in Murree at Kashmir Point on Mid night of 13th and 14th of August, 2014 to mark the commencement of celebrations of Independence Day. MPA Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, PML (N) Murree President Dafter Abbasi, other office bearers, large number of workers, notables and citizens were also present on this occasion. Fascinating demonstration of fireworks was held when the clock resounded the 12 mid night and Independence day started. The scene was memorable and worth seeing when fireworks demonstration created day light scenario among the Murree hills at mid night and the people of the gathering highly appreciated the fireworks by clapping enthusiastically and chanting slogans of Pakistan Zindabad and Youm-e-Azadi Zindabad.

The Provincial Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif this year decided to observe Independence Celebrations throughout August with a view to revive and raise enthusiasm and spirit among people of Pakistan especially in the youth. He added that presently Pakistan is passing through a critical phase of history and is fighting war against terrorism and our Jawans of Pakistan Army are fighting against terrorists and laying great sacrifices for protecting the country.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that certain elements are set out to create lawlessness and disrupt the peace of the country on so called slogans of Long and Revolution Marches, and are trying to create some forced scene for obtaining their political goals through unconstitutional means. He said that PML (N) would foil their designs with support of people within the perimeters of constitutional limits and would never allow anyone to create hurdles in way of the development of the country for which Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has set direction with unprecedented speed during one year after winning mandate from majority of the people through elections of 2013.

He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has already announced constitution of a commission comprising on Judges of Supreme Court for ascertaining any rigging in the elections and Imran Khan has no reason for any kind of long march. He added that, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has shown political graciousness by allowing PTI long march and it is now sole responsibility of Imran Khan to ensure peace and tranquility during his march, otherwise law will take its course.

Earlier, the Minister inaugurated a museum in Resource Centre Murree in which valuable articles have been placed relating to history of most popular hill station of the country Murree which had also been a summer headquarter for western commanders of the British Army during British colonial regime. The Minister termed the museum a good addition in Murree which would certainly help in informing the tourists about the history of the area.
