Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that untimely long march and so-called revolution are a heinous conspiracy to push the country into the darkness of extremism, poverty, unemployment and ignorance. He said that the elements who have been leading a luxurious life in Canada and London have no interest in the solution of the problems of Pakistani people. He said that enlightened people of the country totally rejected these elements in the general elections of May 2013. He said that in a democratic setup, issues are resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding and decisions are not made on the streets. He said that the nation and the history will never forgive those who are involved in confrontation in the present critical situation. He said that the elements involved in negative politics want to create lawlessness and anarchy through dividing the nation but they will never succeed in achieving their evil designs.
He was talking to various delegations of Pakistan Muslim
League-N, here today. He said that the elements engaged in protest politics want to create anarchy in the country through so-called revolution and long march and destroy the economy. He said that a conspiracy is being hatched to create chaos in the country under the garb of long march and so-called revolution. He said that a person who tells lies under the oath of the Holy Quran is a blot on revolution and want to create lawlessness and anarchy in the country through threats of violence. He said that politics of chaos is causing economic loss to the country. He said that long march in the present situation is an attempt to push the country again towards darkness of extremism, poverty and unemployment which will never be permitted by the nation.
The Chief Minister further said that Imran Khan is relying on long march to hide the failures and poor performance of PTI government in KPK. He said that Imran Khan who has not been able to bring any change in the province where his party is in power can hardly bring any change in the country. Shahbaz Sharif advised Imran Khan to give up long march and improve the performance of his government and pay attention to solution of the problems of the masses. He said that survival of the country depends upon a strong democratic system and PML-N government has rendered innumerable sacrifices for the promotion of democracy, strengthening of democratic system and supremacy of law and constitution due to which genuine democracy has been restored in the country.
He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and PML-N have been given a heavy mandate by the Pakistani nation and they will come up the expectations of the masses and the country will be brought out of quagmire of problems and put on the road to progress and prosperity. He said that Pakistani nation is united and has complete confidence in the existing democratic system. He expressed the confidence that Pakistan will achieve the goal of progress and prosperity under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and every conspiracy against democratic system will be foiled.
Earlier , Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Model Town, today. Overall political situation of the country was discussed in the meeting. Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch was also present on the occasion.
Talking to Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, the Chief Minister said that the government wants to resolve all issues through negotiations and mutual understanding. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami is making commendable efforts for the supremacy of constitution and stability of democracy. He said that every effort of Jamaat-e-Islami towards conciliation and understanding will be welcomed and its proposals will be implemented. Shahbaz Sharif said that he is ready to go to anyone for peace and democracy. He said that use of force is not the option of the government and it is ready to show flexibility in the interest of solidarity of the country and protection of life and property of citizens.
Amir Jamaat Islami Siraj-ul-Haq said his party wants that the situation should not worsen and an atmosphere of peace and tranquility should prevail in the country. He said that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its efforts in the larger interest of the nation.
