Tayyip Erdogan assures cooperation in energy sector

CM PUNJAB TURKEY-3 CM PUNJAB TURKEY-1Lahore: An important meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyip Erdogan was held in the historic city Van today. During the meeting, it was agreed to promote bilateral relations with regard to Pak-Turk ties, cooperation in energy and education sectors and eradication of terrorism.

Welcoming the Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and his entourage, Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyip Erdogan said that the recent visit of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to Turkey would further enhance cooperation in various sectors and promote relations between both the countries. He said that Punjab has played an important role in opening new avenues of economic cooperation and further strengthening ties between Pakistan and Turkey.

Turkish Prime Minister assured that Turkey will continue its cooperation to Pakistan, particularly Punjab, in energy, anti-terrorism, vocational education and other sectors. He said it is a matter of pride for Turkey that it is helping brotherly Islamic country of Pakistan. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has played a key role in transforming the friendship between Pakistan and Turkey into useful economic contacts.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that people of Pakistan and Turkey are bound in the everlasting relations of love, affection and brotherhood. He said that Turkish investors have made investment of billions of dollars in various sectors, particularly transport, solid waste management and security in Punjab during the last five years. He said that Turkey has always helped Pakistani people generously in every hour of trial.

Shahbaz Sharif said that although Pakistan and Turkey are two independent countries yet hearts of people of both the countries beat together. He said that it will not be wrong that both nations are one body and two souls. The Chief Minister said that Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and senior leadership of ruling party have opened new chapters of Pak-Turk friendship and metro bus project is its shining example. He said that this project has been completed in a short period with the cooperation of Turkey and about one lakh 75 thousand passengers are travelling daily by metro buses.

The Chief Minister welcomed the interest expressed by Turkey and its leadership for extending cooperation in various sectors in Pakistan. He said that Punjab government is providing very conducive atmosphere to foreign investors and incentives are being provided to them on priority basis. He said that the warm welcome accorded to his entourage is a glorious example of Pak-Turk friendship.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and his entourage to Turkey.

Later ,CM addressed a large public gathering and said that he has no words to describe Pak-Turk friendship as both the countries have strong brotherly relations. He said that the modern cleanliness system launched with the cooperation of Turkey in Lahore is continuing successfully and now its scope is being expanded to other big cities of Punjab.
