Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that some elements are challenging the writ of the government by creating chaos and anarchy in Pakistan under a conspiracy. He said that people have given mandate to Pakistan Muslim League-N which will be safeguarded by people and constitution of Pakistan. He said that law enforcement agencies will not be deterred by the threats of Tahir-ul-Qadri nor that person will be allowed to violate law or talk of hanging policemen. He said that those who are gathering proclaimed offenders to topple the government and ordering their workers to fix nails on their batons and collect weapons will not be allowed to violate the law of the country and will be dealt with an iron hand.
He expressed these views while addressing a press conference in the committee room of National Hockey Stadium today. Provincial Minister for Environment and Police Reforms, Col. (R) Shuja Khanzada was also present on the occasion. Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that Tahir-ul-Qadri and Imran Khan want to push the people into a blind alley. He warned that they will know the result of illegal activities. He said that people who do not abide by the law and constitution of Pakistan want to create disruption and hooliganism in the country but law will take its course against them. He said that those using indecent language in their provocative speeches will not be tolerated. He said that Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri will be responsible for any loss caused to the democratic system. He said that it is insult of people to describe a democratic government as a monarchy.
The Minister said that Imran Khan is disappointed due to non-materialization of his dreams but he should not divide the nation on national affairs. He said that misunderstanding of Ch. Shujat will soon be removed and he did not learn a lesson from defeat in general elections. Rana Mashhood said that Ch. Shujat’s condition is pitiable and he likes to walk under the umbrella of a dictator and not democracy. He said that Ch. Brothers are trying to come into power with the help of a person who has no political importance. He said that Ch. Brothers should forget martial law or becoming a part of it.
Replying to a question, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that a citizen of Lahore Zulfiqar had submitted an application to register a case against Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri for delivering rebellious speeches and a case has been registered against him in Police Station Lower Mall Lahore.
Replying to another question, Rana Mashhood Ahmed said that Tahir-ul-Qadri has not been immediately arrested as government does not want to lose patience. He said that we are waiting for final report of joint investigation team and judicial commission after which all will become clear before the nation.
