Lahore: Member National Assembly Hamza Shahbaz Sharif has said that Imran Khan and Tahir ul Qadri in the lust for power are even ready to cause damage to the country. Tahir ul Qadri has exposed his real face by instigating his followers to violence, he added. He said that the nation is preparing for celebrating independence day and paying tributes to martyrs of Zarb-e-Azb and it will not allow enemies of progress and prosperity of the country to hijack constitution or democracy. Ulema and people from all walks of life should play an active role for foiling the nefarious designs of political adventurists, he added.
He was presiding over a meeting of representative ulema of all schools of thought at Model Town today. Minister of State on Religious Affairs Pir Aminul Hasnat Shah, Provincial Ministers, Bilal Yasin and Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman were also present on the occasion.
Hamza Shahbaz said that all demands of Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri are undemocratic, especially, the order of violence against police officials, given by Tahirul Qadri to his followers. He said that the claim of Tahirul Qadri regarding 14 dead bodies against 14 dead bodies proved that he is not afraid of creating anarchy and shedding human blood in the country for the sake of power. He said that under these circumstances, government is bound to discharge its responsibilities regarding law and order. He said that like Imran Khan, we have also reservations over electoral system but parliament is the right forum to settle these matters. He said that Imran Khan is bent upon hampering the process of national development and it is also a fact that political adventurism at this time is a treason to the martyrs of operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Hamza Shahbaz said that democracy is the only source of national development and prosperity but Ch. Brothers who are fond of dictatorship cannot understand this fact. He said that Ch. Brothers are unfit to speak of Jehad against corruption as they have themselves committed embezzlement of Rs.70 billion in Punjab Bank. He said that long march is a storm in a tea cup and government is not afraid of such negative activities as it has support of the masses.
