Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that black night of oppression was about to end, those responsible for Model Town tragedy would not escape punishment, neither there can be justice for the inheritors of shuhda as long as Shahbaz Sharif was the Chief Minister nor the real culprits could be given exemplary punishment, month of August was decisive month in which the change would have to come, after long struggle your hard work was about to pay dividends, we are about to get rid of anti-people govt but for this we would have to give falling wall real hard push, August 10 was the day of Model Town tragedy martyrs in Lahore and we have to participate in it fully in order to pay homage to the martyrs.
He said this while addressing a high-level meeting in the Muslim League House here today. The meeting was participated by all the four provincial Presidents Haleem Adil Shaikh, Intikhab Khan Chamkani, Ajmal Khan Wazir, Tariq Bashir Cheema MNA, Zain Elahi MNA, former Provincial Law Minister Muhammad Basharat Raja, former opposition leader Punjab Ch Zaheeruddin Khan, former legislators Nauman Langhrial, Rai Aslam Kharal, Ch Ghias Mela, former Nazims Ahmad Yar Heraj, Hafiz Ammar Yassir, Ch Maqsood Suleheria, Ansar Baryaar, Mohammad Khan Leghari, Hafiz Qamar Hayat Kathia, Engineer Shehzad Elahi and Seemal Kamran as well as district office-bearers Zulfiqar Pappan, Sh Umar Hayat, Sajjad Balochi, Arshah Shah Bokhari, Ajmal Cheema and large number of other district office-bearers.
Ch Parvez Elahi said further that the rulers have turned the country into “masayelastaan” in one year, poverty, unemployment and lawlessness had increased quite alarmingly, incidence of dacoity and thefts had increased so immensely that the people had virtually been besieged in their homes. He said that the failed rulers wanted to hide under the umbrella of the army in order to avoid peoples march (awami march), the rulers should better listen that the conspiracy to pit the Pak Army against the people would never succeed, Pak army would never stop the people fed up with the problems from protest against the rulers for supremacy of the Constitution. He said that non-registration of FIR of martyrs of Model Town tragedy was the ample proof of inefficiency of the administration and helplessness of the judiciary.
