Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri is no more than an agent of Hindus and Jews: Rana Mashud

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri is no more than an agent of Hindus and Jews and his efforts to destabilize Pakistan are a part of the international conspiracy under which many Islamic countries of Middle East have been pushed towards chaos and anarchy. However, he said, the patriotic people of Pakistan will foil such conspiracies through mutual unity and discipline.

He was addressing a press conference at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam (SQA), here today. Members Punjab Assembly Tahiya Noon and Mehvish Sultana were also present on the occasion.

Rana Mashhood said that people of Pakistan are a proud and dignified nation and Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri has insulted them by describing them as worse than animals of the West. He said that the statements of Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri in the West and in Pakistan are contradictory. He said that Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri has asked his workers to attack security forces and kill 15 policemen in retaliation for the death of 15 party workers. He said that Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri has also ordered his workers to enter into the houses of police officials who launched crackdown and bring their women to the headquarters of Idara-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran for the purpose of Quran Khawani. He said that this showed the mental state of Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri as well as exposed his agenda to spread anarchy in Pakistan to hamper the process of development in the country.

The Law Minister also criticized the instructions of Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri to the employees of educational institutions under his control to reach Model Town with the copies of the Holy Quran around their neck. He said that Maulana Tahir-ul-Qadri has even gone to the extent of compromising the sanctity of Holy Quran for his narrow ends. He said that people have often seen Tahir-ul-Qadri telling a lie in talk shows of TV news channels under oath on the Holy Quran.

In response to a question, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that no one will be allowed to topple democratically elected government or to promote chaos in the country through issuing unconstitutional orders. He warned that protection of life and property of the people is the responsibility of the government. Who will be responsible for any act of terrorism in the protest rallies, he questioned.
