Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the JI and the Awami Jamhoori Ittehad ( AJI) had strongly rejected the PTI’s proposal for dissolving the Khyber P. provincial assembly, on the ground that this was against the will of the people of he province.
Addressing a joint press conference with the AJI chief and provincial minister Shahram khan Tarkai at Al-Markaz Peshawar on Sunday, he said if the PTI wanted to dissolve the Khyber P. government, it had the right to do that, although in principle, the PTI should have the coalition partners in confidence before taking such a decision. However, he said the JI and the Awami Jamhoori Ittehad were not in favour of dissolving the provincial assembly.
The JI chief said as for the PTI’s Azadi March was concerned, this was PTI’s own decision and the party was free to take such a decision. He said that the Independence Day was an auspicious day and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should show large heartedness and allow the PTI to hold Azadi march.
In reply to a question, he said that the JI or the AJI were not taken into confidence regarding the Azadi March and they learnt of it through the media. He however clarified that it was not necessary for the PTI to take other in confidence on the issue because they were allies only in the Khyber P government. Nevertheless, he said, as for the dissolution of the Khyber P. assembly was concerned, the PTI must have taken coalition partners into confidence.
AJI chief Shahram khan Tarkai told newsmen on the occasion that he fully endorsed the views of the JI chief. Earlier both the leaders at their one hour long meeting , decided that the democratic process must continue and it should not be allowed to be derailed.
The JI chief told another questioner that a PTI delegation comprising Shah Mehmud Qureshi, Pervez Khattak and Ejaz Chaudhary was scheduled to meet him in Islamabad on Monday. Asked about the line of action of the JI and AJI in case Khyber P chief Minister Pervez Khattak dissolved the provincial assembly, Sirajul Haq said only time would tell that. However, he added that at present there was no such situation in the province that warranted dissolution the assembly.
Meanwhile,The JI Information Secretary Ameer ul Azeem said in a statement here that Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, will unfold an Awami Agenda of his party at a press conference in the federal capital tomorrow, August 4. The Awami Agenda will comprise the JI programme for solving the problems and difficulties facing the nation and the country.
Ameer ul Azeem said that the JI chief would carry his agenda to every nook and corner of the country and create an awareness among the masses about the prevailing system based on injustice and exploitation and seek the support of the downtrodden for getting rid of it.
