Lahore: Met office has forecasted heavy rains in Lahore. According to the met office weather would be wet in most parts of the country. Scattered rain-thundershower is expected in Kashmir, Khyber Paktunkhwa, at isolated places in Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Lahore divisions), Multan, D.G. Khan divisions, Southeast Sindh ( Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad divisions) and Gilgit-Baltistan. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has issued instructions to administration and concerned agencies to remain fully alert in view of heavy rains in Lahore and other cities of the province on Eid.
The Chief Minister directed that necessary measures be taken for immediate drainage of rainwater from low-lying areas while administration and police should remain alert for facilitating the people.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister took notice of accumulation of water in G-I area of Johar Town and directed WASA to take immediate steps for is disposal.
