Lahore: Former President of Pakistan/Ex-Chairman Senate Wasim Sajjad, condoled the death of Dr Majeed Nizami.In his condolence message,he said I was deeply shocked and grieved to learn of the sad demise of Majeed Nizami. May Allah Almighty rest the soul in peace and give the family courage to bear this irreparable loss. Sincere condolences have expressed by Wasim Sajjad to all the members of his family.
Veteran politician Begum Abida Hussain presented heartfelt condolences to Rameeza Nizami,in whom late Majeed Nizami vested his faith and trust. She hoped that Rameeza Nizami will carry on the Nawa i Waqt line of nationalistic thinking in order to defend against the predatory practises of our neighbours. Majeed Nizami did not flinch in the face of criticism and was beyond mundane temptation. May his soul rest in peace,she added.
Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi have expressed deep grief and sorrow over passing away of elderly journalist and Editor, Nawa-i-Waqt, Majeed Nizami and said that his services for Pakistan could not be forgotten, he was not only a great journalist but also a statesman, promotion and preaching of Ideology of Pakistan had become mission of his life and he had dedicated himself and his publishing houses for it.
Ch Shujat Hussain and Ch Parvez Elahi said whenever a crisis had arisen in the country, Dr Majeed Nizami played his full role for resolving it. They said that late Majeed Nizami had great love and commitment for Pakistan and the Quaid-i-Azam and he spent all his life as true lover of Pakistan and the Quaid-i-Azam and greatly struggled for transforming Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state in the light of sayings of the Quaid-i-Azam.
The PML leaders prayed to Almighty Allah to grant eternal rest to the departed soul of Majeed Nizami and bless him with His mercy.
Chairperson Defence of Human Rights Amina Masood Janjua in her condolence message said no one could fill the gap caused today and imagine the ultimate loss to Pakistan and its Journalism at this moment as we mourn the death of a great thinker , philosopher and writer ,Dr Majeed Nizami (RIP ) . Its extremely sad and shocking for our members and aggrieved families too, to know about the demise of Respected Majeed Nizami , who was a spirited and daring supporter of our Missing Persons Cause . May Allah Bless him and Keep him in the highest place in Paradise, Ameen.
Senator Mushahid, in his condolence message to Ms. Rameeza Nizami, said that the late journalist was an outspoken champion of the Pakistan Ideology and Two-Nation Theory and his services for Democracy and Freedom of Press in Pakistan will never be forget, adding the period from 1962 onwards has been witness of his selfless struggle for the integrity of Pakistan.
Senator Mushahid also lauded his outstanding contributions to bring Pakistani Mahsooreen from Bangladesh, support of Kashmir cause, peaceful solution of Palestinian & Bosnian conflicts as well as positive role in the Nuclear Tests.
The Senator prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and for the courage of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran has expressed deep sense of sorrow over sad demise of veteran journalist and editor-in-chief of NawaiWaqt Group Mr Majid Nizami.
In his condolence message, Dr Kamran said that his death has caused irreparable loss to national interest and journalism in Pakistan and the gap created could not be fulfilled. He said that Mr Nizami was torchbearer of ideology of Pakistan and independent journalism and he devoted all his journalistic life to protect ideological boundaries of Pakistan. He said that his factual and righteous stance on Kashmir issue and relations with India remained unchanged throughout his life.
He said that Mr Nizami was the only editor who faced three dictators and spoke truth before tyrannical rulers fearlessly. He said that Mr Nizami’s sacrifices for the independence of journalism were unprecedented and his services for the country and the nation would always be remembered. He said that Mr Nizami’s style of journalism was the best guideline for journalists.
Government College University Lahore Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman, faculty members and the Old Ravians Union have offered their deep condolences on the sad demise of eminent Old Ravian, veteran journalist and Editor Nawa-i-Waqt Dr Majid Nizami. The Vice Chancellor paid glowing tribute to Dr Majid Nizami for his services for promotion of journalism and Pakistan ideology. He said that his death had created a void which would never be filled. He also said that Dr Majid Nizami had a great love for his alma mater, GCU.
In their condolence message to the bereaved family, Vice Chancellor Prof Rahman, ORU President Kamran Lashari and Secretary Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt prayed to the Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the deceased family members to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
