Quality edible items are available at affordable rates in Ramzan Bazaars: Bilal Yaseen

Minister Food Bilal YaseenLahore: Provincial Minister for Food, Bilal Yasin has said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, consumers will be able to purchase five kg sugar from Ramzan Bazaars. He said that quality edible items are available at affordable rates in Ramzan Bazaars as compared to open market which has given relief to the common man.

He expressed these views while presiding over the meeting of Cabinet Committee for Price Control today. Secretaries and other concerned officers of various departments were present on the occasion. The Minister said that due to round the clock efforts of the Ministers and Assembly Members, hoarders and profiteers were not allowed to exploit the masses. Bilal Yasin said that profiteers have been discouraged to strict vigilance supervision of 1110 magistrates at district level. He said that people have got relief due to provision of daily use commodities in Ramzan Bazaars and government is seriously considering continuing these bazaars.

Bilal Yasin said that on the directions of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, daily use items have been provided in Ramzan Bazaars under a price control mechanism.

 Punjab Minister for Excise & Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman has sent 13 trucks of Eid gifts for 7700 displaced families of North Waziristan. He said that 20 thousand packets of Eid gifts will be distributed within two days whereas Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will personally give Eid packets to the affectees on Eid.

Talking to media men, Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman and Food Minister Bilal Yasin said that 169 trucks of relief items have been sent by Punjab government to the affectees so far, which include 4000 tents, 10000 flour bags of 20 kg each, 6000 rice bags of 20 kg each, 60 tons date, 500 tons fodder and 200 sewing machines.

Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman said that Punjab government has distributed Rs. 7000 per family among 35000 affected families and financial assistance will be distributed among 15000 more families during next two days for which instructions have been issued to Zong Company. He said that Punjab government and its people are standing by affectees in this hour of trial and financial assistance will be continued till their complete rehabilitation. He appealed to the philanthropists to maximum donate in Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. MPA Qazi Adnan Farid, Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf, DG PDMA and other officials were present on the occasion.
