Lahore: The third IDPs Fund Raising T20 match between Pakistan A and Faisalabad XI ended in a draw after a thrilling contest at the Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad on late Thursday night.
A jam-packed crowd was present on the occasion to witness the national and local cricketers in action. The match collected Rs 25 million which also included three bats worth Rs 5 million signed by the renowned cricketers.
Pakistan A team, batting first, managed to post 156 runs on the board in the allotted 20 overs. Saeed Ajmal and Khurram Shahzad claimed two wickets each. In reply, Faisalabad XI also played well and scored 155 runs in 19.5 overs. On last ball, they needed two runs to win but the last ball was declared wide and that made the score equal.
On the break-taking last ball, the spectators were praying for their favourtie teams’ victory. But the last beat was wasted by the batsman and the match ended in a draw. Both the teams were declared joint winners and were handed over the trophy jointly.
Provincial Minister for Law and Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion while Director General Sports Board Punjab (SBP) Usman Anwar and other dignitaries were also present there.
