Lahore: A seminar titled “Blessings of Ramadan” was organized by Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) at its Islamabad campus. Among representatives of all sections of society, the seminar was attended by Ghulam Mustaf Qazi, Vice President ICMAP, Sajjad Ahmad, Chairman Welfare Committee, Air Cdr (R) Aftab Ali Khan, Director North, ICMA senior members, renowned analysts, chief executives of various organizations, professors and students of various universities, and a number of journalists and academics.
Ghulam Mustafa Qazi, Vice President ICMAP shedding light on the blessings of Ramadan said that some of us find it difficult to follow our spiritual plan in Ramadan, despite our true desire for change. Each year when Ramadan comes, we start thinking about the glory of this month with many ambitions and plans. Unfortunately, on the last night of Ramadan, some of us look back and feel dissatisfied by what we have done. We find that we did not do what we planned or what we did fell short of our plan. We might wonder why! Our desire to improve ourselves spiritually and socially during Ramadan goes poof with the winds despite the fact that demons are locked up and cannot be blamed for our failure! Sometimes bad feelings push us to question our faith and commitment to the religion on the night of Eid. In fact, the reason is simpler than we can ever imagine.
He added, the problem lies in the fact that most of our plans are done without mindfulness. We make promises only in our minds and resolve to fulfill tasks during the holy month only in words. But what we really need is an organized, written plan that goes in tandem with TRAINING. Yes, I do mean rehearsing. Any successful event in the world needs pre-planning and training: any speech you’ll be giving, any meeting you’ll be attending or even any gathering that you will be going to. So what about the great month of Ramadan, which presents you the opportunity to repent for all your mistakes and to have your name written on the Jannah list?!
“I wish we all avail the chance of doing good deeds in this blessed month. We should start our spiritual journey from the month of Shaban so that we can prepare well and welcome Ramadan with the best of our physical and spiritual health”, said Qazi.
Addressing to the learned audience guest speaker Dr. Yousuf Raza, Mufti Aamir, Riaz Umar Abbas from Minhajul Quran highlighted the blessings of the Holy month that Allah has given the holy month of Ramadan to us for gaining good reward from Allah as every good act will reward 70 times from Allah. Laylat al-Qadr is a golden night, we should search this night in Ramadan to achieve its full benefits.
They added that Allah’s blessings will start from the first day of this holy month, helping needy is a key aspect of rich Muslims. They should think their possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need. People should give in a pleasing manner and not proudly. In the end, Vice President extended a vote of thanks to the speakers for sharing their valuable thoughts.
