Punjab Govt dispatched 28 more trucks of relief items for the IDPs

Minister FinanceLahore: Provincial Minister for Finance & Excise & Taxation Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman has dispatched 28 more trucks of relief items for the displaced persons of North Waziristan.

The relief goods include 2000 tents, 100 stoves plus gas cylinders, 50 water tanks, 100 charpoys, wheel chairs and pedestal fans. He said that the process of help and assistance to displaced persons of North Waziristan will continue till their complete rehabilitation and a cash amount of Rs.7000 each has been distributed among 32 thousand families.

He was talking to media on the occasion of dispatch of relief items from PDMA Office. Relief Commissioner Punjab Nadeem Ashraf, DG PDMA and other governments officials were also present. Giving details of relief goods, Mujtaba Shuja Rehman said that 10800 flour bags of 20 kg each, 6000 bags of rice of 20 kg each, 60 ton dates, 500 ton fodder, 200 sewing machines and 2000 tents have been sent so far on 141 trucks whereas 28 trucks carrying relief assistance have been dispatched today. He said that Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will personally distribute Eid package among the distressed people on Eid.

Mujtaba Shujr ur Rehman made an appeal to the philanthropists and well to do people to donate generously in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He said that donations of crores of rupees have been deposited in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and relief items are being continuously sent to IDPs. He said that a transparent procedure has been adopted for the help of displaced persons.
