PTI’s long march is against the democratic government: Rana Mashud

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan talking to media at PSBLahore: Provincial Minister for Law, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that the administration did not receive any application from PTI for holding public meeting or long march in Islamabad against the present democratic government. He said that till date neither PTI has submitted any application nor government has issued any permission letter in this regard. He said that PML-N government will celebrate Independence Day on August 14 at D-Chowk in a befitting manner. He said that if opponents carried out any illegal activity, they will be dealt as per law.

While talking to media-men at the office of Punjab Sports Board here today, Rana Mashhood said that the former Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan had rendered numerous sacrifices for democracy during dictatorial era. He said that Rana Sanaullah is an important member of PML-N and no conspiracy is being hatched against him in the party. He termed the demand of Rana Sanaullah as genuine that the Judicial Commission should also call for data of mobile phone of Tahir-ul-Qadri and the people of Minhaj-ul-Quran so that the process of transparent investigation could be furthered. He said that if Tahir-ul-Qadri is on the right side, he should cooperate with the Judicial Commission and does not try to remove forensic proof from the crime scene near his residence. He said that Tahir-ul-Qadri instigated his followers. Law Minister said that Tahir-ul-Qadri had also asked police officials not to obey the orders of the government.

Replying to a question, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that a few years ago Tahir-ul-Qadri had supported a woman against the injustices of Sheikh Rasheed and now Sheikh Rasheed has become the supporter of his so-called revolution. He said that PML-N government has always talked about the supremacy of law and if anyone tried to take the law into his hand, government will take strict action against him. He said that the Chief Minister has taken immediate notice of the violence against police officials by PML-N MPA Rana Shoaib Adrees in Faisalabad. He said that government will ensure supremacy of law.

Earlier ,Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan stated that a target of Rs 8 billion will be achieved in the cricket match being played at Gaddafi Stadium for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan on July 26, 2014.

The meeting was attended by MPAs Mian Naseer Ahmed, Saiful Malook, Tahia Noon, Mehwish Sultana, Director General Sports Board Punjab Usman Anwar, DCO Lahore Captain (retd) Usman and top officials of Health Department, 1122, LTC, LESCO, Wasa, PTV etc.
