Police is trying to brush on model town incident: Ch Pervaiz Elahi

Ch Pervaiz ElahiLahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Ch Parvez Elahi has said that one month has lapsed after Model Town tragedy but neither police has registered the FIR nor Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has tendered his resignation, nor High Court or the Supreme Court taken its sou moto notice and oppressed and worried relatives were looking towards judiciary for justice.

He said in a statement issued here today that the police was trying to brush aside the matter because Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was himself involved in this tragedy and on his orders innocent people were bathed in blood. He said parties attending the All Parties Conference (APC) had stated unanimously in their declaration that till Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif resigned his office, no proper and justifiable inquiry could be held in the Model Town tragedy because in his presence no govt functionary could dare to stand witness against him.

He said full month has lapsed today but Shahbaz Sharif was sticking to his office quite daringly because Shahbaz Sharif knew well that the moment he left his office, the govt functionaries themselves would appear before the courts with evidence.

Ch Parvez Elahi said if the rulers think that they would succeed in putting the matter under the carpet then it was merely their wishful thinking, blood of the Model Town tragedy martyrs would not go waste and the nation would get rid of these brutal and barbaric rulers soon, Insha-Allah.
