Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that on behalf of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, 200 sewing machines have been sent for displaced women in connection with setting up vocational training school at North Waziristan. Punjab government will send 500 ton Wanda for the animals of IDPs, of which first consignment of 160 ton Wanda has been sent.
This was stated by him while talking to media-men on the occasion of sending Wanda and sewing machines for IDPs at the office of Provincial Disaster Management Authority here today. Senior Member BOR Nadeem Ashraf, DG PDMA Zaheer Abbas and other officers were present.
Bilal Yasin said that IDPs have brought with them more than one lakh animals and they had requested Chief Minister Punjab to send fodder for their animals, upon which, Chief Minister Punjab had promised and in this connection 160 ton Wanda is being sent through 20 trucks. He said that Pak Army is fighting war for the future of the country and the entire nation is with Pak Army. He said that Punjab government is standing with their displaced brethren in this hour of trial and the process of assistance will continue till their complete rehabilitation.
Bilal Yasin said that Punjab government has set up Chief Minister’s Relief Fund with an amount of Rs.50 crore and philanthropists are depositing amounts in this fund. He further said that 20 trucks carrying relief items have been sent to Bannu which include 2000 tents, 10800 flour bags of 20kg, 6000 rice bags of 20kg and 60 ton dates.
