He further said that August 14 function was previously held in the President’s House and then outside the Parliament. He said that during his tenure as the Prime Minister he had got it shifted to the Convention Centre in 2004, it was participated by the armed forces chiefs and this function was being held till now.
He said that this time for handling the political issue, not only the day of August 14 was being made controversial but also the armed forces of Pakistan were being involved in it, this attitude of the rulers was quite deplorable, they should solve the political matters politically and should not involve the army institutions in it.
