Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that Kashmiris had offered unparalleled sacrifices since the Dogra Raj on 13th of July, 1931 but the world conscience and world powers were unmoved.
Addressing Iftar dinners at Town Ship and Bostan colony, he urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif not to pin hopes on the Narendera Modis government in respect of Kashmir. The country’s principled Kashmir policy should be revived and the brutalities of the Indian troops in Held Kashmir should be exposed.
The JI central leader said that the only solution of the Kashmir issue was that New Delhi accepted Kashmir as a disputed territory and afforded the Kashmiris their right to self determination under the UN resolutions.
Liaqat Balch also urged the government to take up the issue of Israel’s bombings on the Palestinians at the UN and also convene meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers to raise voice for the rights of the Palestinians and the Kashmiris. He said it was unfortunate that while the US and Europe were united in the enmity towards Islam and the Muslims, the Muslim world stood divided.
He stressed upon the governments of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to launch a joint campaign in order to unite and activate the Muslim world.
Liaqat Baloch said that it was the democratic right of the opposition to protest over the failure of the government but it should be peaceful. At the same time, the elected government should avoid dictatorial and undemocratic tactics.
He said the general public was cursing the rulers because of the price spiral , high electricity tariff and load shedding.
