Justice Ali Baqar Najaf received death threats

Justice Baqir Ali NajfLahore: Security outside the Lahore High Court was tightened on Saturday after the inquiry tribunal consisting of Justice Ali Baqar Najaf received death threats,a local news channel  Dunya News has claimed today in breaking news.
Justice Baqar along with two more judges probing the Model Town incident of clashes between Pakistan Awami Tehrik  activists and the police, received a letter threatening their life on Saturday. Sources revealed that not only the security for Lahore High Court has been tightened but the judges have been deployed with police commandos.

Justice Syed Manzoor Ali Shah convoyed by security police has been inspecting the security arrangements at Lahore High Court for the past few days.The investigation of the Model Town operation was underway. Joint Investigation Team had recorded the statement of in-charge Elite Force, Abdul Rauf. According to the statement, Superintendent Police (SP) Security issued the orders to shoot the protesters in the legs. He, nonetheless, was informed of the possible consequences it shall bore but the orders were not altered.Station House Officer (SHO) Sabzazaar, Amir Saleem, aimed straight at the protesters. The statement of in-charge Elite Commandos, footages of the operation and their possible connection with the site shall soon resolve the mystery. SHO Amir Saleem including the Elite Forces personnel are further being investigated.
Inspector General Punjab Police Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera had written a letter to Tahirul Qadri to join investigation into the incident.However, the PAT chief refused and said on July 7 that Punjab Police, who were killer of his party workers, were probing the incident.On June 17, at least 14 PAT workers were killed and dozens of others injured in violent clashes between party activists and policemen in Lahore. The confrontation had started when a 15-member police team tried to remove barriers in front of PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house and the Minhaj International Secretariat.
