Health officers should ensure availability of medicines in BHU: Dr. Ejaz Munir

Lahore: Secretary Health Punjab, Dr. Ejaz Munir has directed EDOs Health of all districts to personally supervise health programmes and provide relief to the people by visiting health centers and hospitals.

He said this while addressing EDOs Health Conference at MPDD, today. Director General Health Punjab Dr. Zahid Pervaiz, EDOs Health of all districts, Directors of various health programmes, representatives of WHO, UNICEF and Malenda Gates Foundation attended the conference.

Secretary Health directed the officers to pay full attention to EPI and mother and child health programme at district level. He said that the health officers should ensure availability of medicines in basic health centers, tehsil and district headquarters hospitals. He also directed that personal interest should be taken in timely completion of projects of upgrading tehsil and district headquarters hospital.

Dr. Ejaz Munir directed EDOs to personally monitor the teams working for dengue surveillance for eradication of dengue. He said that the stocks of Deltramathrin and Temiphose medicines should be maintained. He said that special attention should also be paid on the vaccination of children of IDPs coming to Punjab. He also directed to pay attention to the maintenance of cold chain for stocking vaccine. He directed officers to complete process of recruitment of lady sanitary patrols at the earliest.

Earlier, working of hospitals, progress of HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis control, TB Programme, reporting of diseases, mother and child health, immunization and performance of the health department in each district were reviewed in the meeting. All EDOs Health presented reports about their respective districts.
