Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food, Bilal Yasin has said that Punjab government is endeavoring for providing essential items at cheaper rates to the people during Ramzan-ul-Mubarak. He said that Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is personally visiting various cities including Lahore to monitor the situation. He said that due to these steps, profiteers were discouraged and relief has been provided to the people.
He said that while talking to journalists during his visit to Ramzan bazaars at Shadman, Dehli Gate, Shadbagh, Singhpura, Tajpura and Harbanspura, here today.
Provincial Minister told that due to visits of cabinet members, assembly members and officers of district administration to Ramzan bazaars profiteers were discouraged while relief has been provided to the people. He said that officers of Food Department, market committee, Food Authority and district administration are performing their duties devotedly. He said that essential items are being provided to the people at cheaper rates in Ramzan bazaars in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab.
Bilal Yasin said that instructions have been issued to market committee, industries and Livestock Departments to ensure provision of flour, sugar, ghee, potato, tomato and chicken meat in abundance so that there should be no shortage of these items in Ramzan bazaars. He warned that strict action will be taken against the officer or official showing negligence in this regard.
The Provincial Minister directed TMA Shalamar Town to improve security system in Ramzan bazaars of the Town and parking facilities should be provided to the consumers.
During visit to Ramzan bazaar Tajpura, he suspended Food Supervisor Asad Mehmood due to non-availability of flour checking machine. Bilal Yasin inspected sugar stall at Ramzan bazaar Shadbagh and checked the weight of two kg sugar packet. Similarly he checked weight of flour bag and its quality.
