Lahore: Member Provincial Assembly Punjab, Shahzad Maqbool Bhutta has said that Punjab government has presented an exemplary budget in which special attention has been paid to the development of South Punjab.
He said that funds of South Punjab have been increased from 32 percent to 36 percent in the present budget and this amount becomes Rs. 259 billion upon which we are very thankful to Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Shahzad Maqbool Bhutta further said that metro bus Multan project will open new avenues of development in the region which will result in generation of job opportunities and provision of cheap travelling facilities to the people. He said that new colleges are being set up in Multan as a result of which more educational facilities will be available to male and female students.
He further said that subsidy has been made available on fertilizer in the budget for small cultivators, which is a good step of Punjab government. He said that token will be issued to the farmers having land upto seven acres for obtaining fertilizer at subsidized rates and they will get fertilizer on subsidized rate by giving token to the dealer. He said that small farmers will benefit from subsidy instead of dealers.
MPA Shahzad Maqbool Bhutta said that PML-N government has always given priority to South Punjab and provided health and educational facilities to the people. Huge development funds have been allocated for South Punjab in 2014-15 budget which will usher in new era of development in the area, he added.
