Lahore: Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that present government has taken historic steps for the welfare of doctors, nurses and paramedics and resolving their problems. He said that matters of service structure have been resolved amicably and now it is the responsibility of all the stakeholders associated with Health Department to pay attention to the treatment of poor patients.
He expressed these views while distributing letters of four tiers service structure upgradation among Allied Health Professionals at Lahore General Hospital, here today.
Principal PGMI Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra, MS LGH Dr. Pervaiz Imtiaz, office-bearers of Health Professionals Association and a large number of paramedics were present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, President of the association, Rana Basharat Ali thanked Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Kh. Saad Rafiq on resolving long standing issue of service structure of Allied Health Professionals.
Addressing the function, Kh. Salman Rafiq said that those working in health department are like a family and our aim is to serve the patients. He said that after four tiers service structure, income of thousands of families will increase and they will become prosperous. He hoped that the employees will perform their duties with devotion and hard work.
Kh. Salman Rafiq announced that the issue of class four servants will also be resolved and employees of Board of Management working in different institutions/hospitals of health department will hear a good news.
Later, Kh. Salman Rafiq distributed letters among the employees.
Meanwhile, Khawaja Salman Rafique inaugurated special campaign of immunization accompanied by Mohtamum Jamia Naeemia, Maulana Ragib Naeemi at Garhi Shahu Dispensary, here today.
Director Health (EPI) Dr. Munir Ahmed, EDO Health Lahore Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, DOH Lahore Dr. Naseer Akhtar and other officers of Health Department were present on the occasion. After inauguration of special campaign of immunization, Maulana Ragib Naeemi led the prayer for its success. Maulana Ragib Naeemi said that Islam stresses upon saving human lives. He said that it is the religious duty of parents to protect the health of their children and their own. He appealed to the parents to benefit fromthe campaign of immunization against nine diseases launched by Health Department and get their children vaccinated.
Talking to media, Kh. Salman Rafique said that EPI is running on permanent basis throughout the province and routine immunization is being conducted however purpose of this special campaign is to highlight the importance of immunization. He said that this special drive will continue up to June 30 throughout the province during which ten lakh children would be vaccinated.
