Lahore: Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Livestock Ch. Muhammad Arshad Jatt presided over a departmental meeting regarding provision of quality meat to the people.
Addressing the meeting, Ch. Muhammad Arshad Jatt said that provision of quality meat at the rates fixed by district government should be ensured in all districts of Punjab. He said that a watchful eye should be kept on water injected and other harmful chemicals adulterated meat and illegal slaughtering of animals. He said that district livestock officer and slaughter house in-charge will be responsible of it.
Special Assistant said that strict action would be taken against the concerned veterinary doctor and District Livestock Officer on the complaint of adulterated and illegally slaughtered meat. He said that concerned officers and officials of district government should cooperate with veterinary doctors of Livestock Department so that quality meat could be provided to the citizens.
Muhammad Arshad Jatt directed that Incharge of slaughter house should carryout postmortem of animals according to Animals Slaughter Control Act so that sick and weak animals could not be slaughtered. He directed that strict legal action should be taken against the butchers slaughtering animals other than slaughter house.
