Lahore: Director General Anti-Narcotics Force, Maj. Gen. Khawar Hanif met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, here today. Matters regarding curbing of narcotics and measures against the elements involved in this nefarious trade were discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that every segment of the society will have to play an active role for saving youth from drug abuse and promotion of positive activities is essential for this purpose. He said that elements involved in this nefarious trade are enemies of the nation and deserve no leniency. He said that effective measures are being taken for controlling drug trafficking at the entry and exit points of the province.
The Chief Minister further said that there is a need for promoting awareness about the hazardous affects of narcotics and their negative impact on the society. He said that Punjab government will continue to extend all out cooperation to Anti-Narcotics Force for making Punjab a drug-free province.
Provincial Minister Col. (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada, Secretary Home, Additional IG and concerned officials of ANF were also present on the occasion.
