Lahore: Sports Board Punjab (SBP) football team continued their winning streak when they defeated Fata by 3-1 in a match of Inter-Provincial U-14 Boys Football Championship at Boys Degree College ground, Rawalakot, Azad Kashmir on Wednesday.
SBP’s Mehran was in terrific form and it was quite difficult for Fata defenders to halt his onslaught. Though he netted only one goal but he kept the opposite side under pressure throughout the match with his agility and accuracy. He was ably supported by Shahid and Usman, who both contributed one goal each for the winning team. Fata’s solitary goal was scored by Hamza.
In the earlier matches, Sindh and Azad Kashmir returned triumphant but in contrasting manner. Sindh edged out spirited Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) by 2-1 in the first league round match of the day. Aaqib netted both the goals for the winning team while KP’s only goal was scored by Syed Khurram Shah.
Azad Kashmir trounced Islamabad by 5-1 in the second match of the day. For Azad Kashmir, Asad hit two goals while the remaining three goals were shared by Fahad, Usama and Ahmed Ali. Islamabad’s goal was scored by Baqir.
