PHF mourns the death of Sultan Azlan Shah

SULTAN AZLAN SHAHLahore: Akhtar Rasool Chaudhary, President PHF, Rana Mujahid Ali, Secretary General PHF along with Islahuddin Siddiqui, Chairman National Selection Committee, Shahnaz Sheikh, Manager/Head Coach Pakistan Senior Hockey Team, Manzoor-ul-Hassan, Manager/Head Coach Pakistan Junior Hockey Team, Qasim Zia, Vice-President Asian Hockey Federation,  Muhammad Asif Bajwa, Member AHF Council and Staff of Pakistan Hockey Federation have offered heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of His Royal Highness Duli Yang Maha Mulia, Sultan Azlan Shah (Sultan of Perak), who expired today.

DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah was an accomplished lawyer, became Lord President of Malaysia, a highest judicial position in Malaysia and served the country as 9th King of Malaysia. DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah served as President of Malaysian Hockey Federation for 21 years and as President of the Asian Hockey Federation since 1990. He leaves an indelible mark on countless people and on the Asian Hockey Federation.

Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament is the brain child of DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah; which is a regular feature of Malaysian Hockey Federation’s calendar of activities for the last 23 years.

Akhtar Rasool Chaudhary & Rana Mujahid Ali prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the departed soul in His Infinite Mercy. The PHF Management also prayed fortitude, courage and strength for the members of the bereaved family, peoples of Malaysia, Malaysian Hockey Federation, Malaysian Hockey Confederation, Asian Hockey Federation and hockey playing fraternity of Asia/World.
