Lahore: Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed ud Din has said that holding of Africa Show will help promote mutual trade and investment between Pakistan and African countries.
She was addressing the 3rd Africa Show arranged by Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on the occasion of Africa Day, here today.
High Commissioners and diplomats of African countries including Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Somalia, Tunisia, Nigeria, Niger, South Africa, Libya and Kenya besides Provincial Minister for Finance Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, President Lahore Chamber of Commerce Sohail Lashari, Chairman Standing Committee on Pak-Africa Business Promotion and others were also present.
Provincial Minister Hameeda Waheed ud Din appreciated the arranging of the 3rd Africa Show in Lahore in connection with Africa Day and said that there are vast opportunities of mutual trade and investment between Pakistan and African countries and the Africa Show will open up new avenues in this regard. She said that relations with African countries are of vital importance for Pakistan and Punjab government will promote investment and trade with foreign countries with the cooperation of private sector.
The function was also addressed by High Commissioners and diplomats of African countries who highlighted future strategy and planning, trade activities and the need for close bilateral relations.
Later, Hameeda Waheed ud Din inaugurated an exhibition of handicrafts of African countries arranged at Lahore Chamber of Commerce. She visited various stall and appreciated the craftsmanship and beauty of the items. Shields were also presented to provincial ministers, high commissioners and diplomats at the conclusion of the function.
