Lahore: Provincial Minister for Irrigation, Mian Yawar Zaman has said that the culture of public service promoted by Punjab government is basis of a new Pakistan and will prove to be a milestone in accomplishment of public aspirations.
He expressed these views while addressing a function for awarding a cheque for financial assistance of three lakh rupees on behalf of Punjab government to Shaukat Ali, father of Mehmood Ali, a 24-year old youth died due to liver disease.
He said that Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is utilizing all resources for mitigating the suffering of poor and deprived segments and providing them facilities of education, health and jobs. He said that no effort will be spared in provision of free of cost treatment facilities to the poor people.
The Minister said that Chief Minister has allocated Rs. 28 lakh for the treatment of Mehmood Ali but he died during treatment however the Chief Minister has given a cheque for three lakh rupees as financial assistance to the bereaved family. He said that although this amount is not alternate to a human life yet a sincere effort to lessen the agony of the bereaved family on behalf of Punjab government.
