Ankara: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkey H.E. Muhammad Haroon Shaukat here today gave a detailed briefing on the status of Turkey-Pakistan bilateral relations to the participants of the 100th National Management Course of the National School of Public Policy who are currently on a study tour of Turkey.
The Ambassador said owing to the commitment of political leadership and keen interest of the private sector, Pakistan-Turkey relations are witnessing growth in the areas of investment and trade. He said Pakistan can learn from the Turkish experience in the public welfare projects that the Turkish government has implemented in the last decade.
Haroon Shaukat informed that efforts are being made by both Pakistan and Turkey to translate the excellent brotherly relations into good economic cooperation. He said private sector is the engine of growth and Turkish private sector is keen invest in the sectors including energy, infrastructure, and municipal services in Pakistan.
Shaukat referred to successful Turkish projects in Pakistan including wind energy in Jhimpir, metro bus and solid waste management project in Lahore and showed his optimism that these projects could be replicated in other cities across Pakistan.
As part of their study tour, the Pakistani delegation will visit various departments and institutions and shall evaluate the local government, health, security and development administration of Turkey.
