Lahore: Ponseti Clinic has been set up at orthopedic ward of General Hospital where Prof. Irfan Mehboob will examine the affected children to admit in the hospital on every Saturday.
Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute, Prof. Anjam Habib Vohra while talking about this revolutionary facility to be provided at LGH said that this center will help remove the defect in the feet of newly born babies. He said that those parents who cannot afford treatment of their children will be provided all medical and diagnostic facilities free of cost under the policy of Punjab government.
Anjam Habib Vohra appealed the citizens to complete vaccination course against the diseases including polio for making future of new generation safer. He said that instead of going to quacks, they should prefer their treatment in government hospitals in order to avoid complications.
According to Prof. Irfan Mehboob, Saturday has been fixed for admission of children with defects in their feet at the time of birth. He disclosed that earlier there was no facility of treatment of such children in any public sector hospital throughout the province.
He said that all resources will be utilized for looking after the children while a public awareness workshop would be held in June at Post Graduate Medical Institute and Aamir-ud-Din Medical College in which prominent experts of orthopedics will deliver lectures.
