Lahore: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mall, Syed Haroon Ahmed Sultan Bukhari has said that Provincial Social Welfare Department will complete four mega projects of women welfare at a cost of 413.72 million rupees in the province while five ongoing mega projects will become functional in June and Rs. 384.749 million have been spent on these projects.
He expressed these views while addressing a high level meeting of the department today. DG Social Welfare, Director Planning and other officers were present on the occasion.
The Minister said that four new mega projects to be completed include setting up of old age home in Multan at a cost of Rs. 28.267 million, establishment of industrial home and construction of building in Vehari with Rs. 44.442 million, building of shelter homes in five cities including Okara, Attock, Jhelum Chakwal and Mandi Bahauddin and construction of Qasar-e-Bahbood in Faisalabad and Sialkot with Rs. 192.483 billion.
The Minister informed that besides setting up of children home in Faisalabad, bagger home and old age home building in Lahore, upgradation of social welfare training institute and repair and reconstruction of buildings of Dar-ul-Aman in 34 districts will be completed during the end of current fiscal year. He said that Rs. 384.749 million have been spent on all these projects.
The Minister said that on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister, Provincial Social Welfare Department will be made a role model department of the province.
