Lahore: Provincial Minister for Cooperatives, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said that environment protection is of paramount importance for development of a country. He said that it is our collective responsibility to ensure protection of environment.
The government has taken a number of steps for eradication of dengue, he added. He expressed these views while addressing an anti-dengue seminar at Suigas Cooperative Housing Society DHA.
Secretary Cooperatives, Registrar Cooperatives, District Cooperative Officer Lahore and other concerned officers were present on the occasion. Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar said that use of spray, fertilizers and industrial wastes are also a cause of environment pollution.
Similarly, he said that noise of traffic and unnecessary horns are also a great danger for environment. The Minister said that the government is taking steps on priority basis in this regard and these problems will be overcome soon. He said that a special campaign has been started for the elimination of dengue and betterment of environment.
Secretary Cooperatives Babar Hayat Tarar said that anti-dengue campaign is yielding positive results and everybody is playing its due role for the eradication of dengue.
