Islamabad : Chinese media scholar Jin Qiang, who is currently visiting Pakistan to write a research book on Pakistani media, has urged the media institutions of Pakistan and China to enhance collaboration in joint research projects and journalist exchanges to boost people to people ties
He made these comments while meeting with Director General, South Asian Strategic Stability Institute (SASSI), Dr. Maria Sultan during a visit to her Office.
In the meeting both the scholars, exchanged views on enhancing bilateral cooperation between School of Journalism of Hebei University, China and SASSI University in the academic and research programs.
The Director General briefed the various research projects of SASSI and lauded the initiatives of Hebei University School of Journalism for such an unprecedented project focusing on media of Pakistan and assured her cooperation to accomplish the research work.
While highlighting the Pakistan China bilateral economic partnership, Dr. Maria Sultan added that Pakistan and China need to explore new dimensions of cooperative partnership while media is vital power to boost this partnership boost people to people ties, scholarly exchanges, and joint research programs, she added.
Mr. Jin Qiang is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistan China Institute, under the chairmanship of Senator Mushahid Hussain, to write a book on the Pakistani journalists, focusing various aspects of the media, its evolution, press laws, role and challenges in last six decades. The travelogue book will be published in Chinese and English language while the book will be first book on media of Pakistan being written by a Chinese scholar.
