Lahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the Mian Brothers, who spent most of their time in foreign tours, were neither worried about the problem of the masses nor were competent to solve these. He said if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif really wanted to pull the country out of the economic mess, he should bring back his assets lying in foreign banks.
He was addressing a press conference after reviewing the arrangements for a civic reception being held for the new JI Ameer Siraj ul Haq, tomorrow afternoon at Wahdat Road cricket ground.
The JI Secretary General said that according to the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, the country’s wealth in abroad was around 200 billion dollars whereas actually the amount was more than 400 billion dollars.
He said, the rulers had been unnerved over the protest being held tomorrow although this was a part of the democratic process. If the rulers thought this was a plot to pull them down, they were mistaken.
Liaqat Baloch said several incidents of rigging in the last year elections had come to surface and even the Election Commission had accepted that it had been unable to hold, fair, free and transparent elections in Karachi and Hyderabad.
He expressed the hope that the new JI Ameer Siraj ul Haq would be accorded a rousing welcome at the civic reception tomorrow and this would prove the beginning of a movement against the tiny ruling elite which had been controlling the national resources for the last 65 years.
