Lahore: Municipal Officer Samanabad Town Malik Imtiaz Awan said that public awareness campaign against dengue is continuing in Samanabad Town. He said that anti-dengue teams of Samanabad Town and Health Department checked 3417 houses and 2418 open places during last week but no dengue larva was found anywhere.
He said this while presiding over an anti-dengue meeting at Samanabad Town today. Officials of Health Department, Education Department, Solid Waste Management, WASA, PHA and Secretaries of all union councils of the Town were also present on the occasion.
He told that anti-dengue teams have also checked 139 graveyards, schools, tyre shops and junkyards. Malik Imtiaz Awan directed PHA officials to check Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park and green belts and also implement the precautionary measures about elimination of dengue.
Earlier, during the special meeting regarding drainage and provision of water during monsoon, it was decided that a comprehensive strategy should be evolved for disposing of water from low-lying areas.
The meeting decided that uninterrupted provision of water to the people will be ensured during monsoon and in case of loadshedding, tube-wells will be run through generators.
