PML-Q to support Imran Khan’s rally:Ch Shujaat Hussain

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Senator Ch Shujat Hussain has said we support protest of Imran Khan and Dr Tahir ul Qadri, their demand for total reform in electoral system for fair and transparent elections was right.

In a statement issued here today that after May 11, PML was saying from the first day that all previous records of rigging were broken in these elections, the game which N-League played along with the Returning Officers was now being exposed and all faces were being unveiled, in these circumstances it was the right of all of us including Imran Khan and Dr Tahirul Qadri that we talk about total reform in the electoral system. He said that Dr Tahirul Qadri had warned the nation prior to the elections that on May 11 there would be selection and not elections and “jhurlo” (rigging) would be played, his this saying has proved true.

Ch Shujat Hussain said further that even after passage of one year the Election Tribunals were unable to decide the election petitions of the affected candidates, as such now Imran Khan has full right to present his case in the court of the people but instead of just focusing on four constituencies only he should be talking about reforming the entire electoral system like Tahirul Qadri because through partial reform only the way of rigging cannot be blocked in the next elections.
