Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food & Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said that fixing wheat procurement target of forty lakh metric ton is aimed at to ensure the meeting of food requirement of the country. He said that Food Department through effective mutual cooperation of other concerned departments is utilizing all available resources for achieving this target.
He said this during inspection of various wheat procurement centres of district Layyah today. Secretary Food, DCO Layyah, Assistant Commissioner Kahror, DFC and AFC were also present on the occasion.
Bilal Yasin visited wheat procurement centre Kahror Lal Eson, Fatehpur and procurement centre of PASSCO at Shahpur. DCO Layyah during briefing told that the target of eight lakh fifty thousand bags has been fixed for district Layyah. He said that all necessary facilities have been provided to the farmers at wheat procurement centres. The Minister appreciated the arrangements made at procurement centres.
Provincial Minister said that Punjab government is providing all facilities to the farmers and protecting their economic rights. He also congratulated the farmers on bumper wheat crop in district Layyah. Bilal Yasin and Secretary Food inspected the process of wheat procurement at centres and checked the quality of wheat and moisture.
The Minister directed Food Department to enhance the labour charges. He also directed to achieve the target at the earliest.
