Every grain of wheat will be purchased from the farmers :Bilal Yaseen

Bilal Yaseen 6-5-14Lahore: Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin has said that every grain of wheat will be purchased from the farmers. He said that it is priority of Chief Minister Punjab to ensure due return to the farmers of their hard work and there should be no delay in purchase of wheat and timely payment to them.

He said that all kind of deductions on wheat have been abolished. He said this during a surprise visit to wheat procurement centre Mianwali.

Secretary Food Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, DCO Mianwali and District Food Controller Zain ul Abideen were also present on the occasion.

He said that the moisture ratio has been enhanced form 10 percent to 11 percent this year. Bilal Yasin said that gunny bags have been provided in all districts in abundance. He said that five lakh bags have been fixed as wheat procurement target for district Mianwali but the government will even purchase more wheat than the target.

Provincial Minister inspected the weighbridge at the centre and also got done weight of wheat bags under his supervision. He also checked the weight of gunny bags and moisture in the wheat loaded at trolleys. Bilal Yasin said that immediate unloading of wheat at the centre should be ensured so that the farmers should not face any inconvenience. He warned that any kind of deduction, shortage in weight, nepotism or misbehavior will not be tolerated.

Food Inspector Zahoor Hussain told that the target at wheat procurement centre Mianwali is one lakh ten thousand bags and forty thousand wheat bags have been purchased at the centre so far.  He requested for provision of more tarpaulins at the centre.

Earlier, DCO Mianwali gave a briefing to the Provincial Minister and Secretary Food about the wheat procurement at his office.

Later, Bilal Yasin also inspected Chasma Check Post. He directed DCO Mianwali to take strict action against hoarders.
