Lahore: Punjab government has issued a notification of reduction in public transport fares for providing relief to the people due to decrease in diesel prices. Provincial Secretary Transport in consultation with representatives of transporters and District Regional Transport Authority has reduced the fares of intercity Non-AC diesel buses and mini buses by 3 to 4 percent while 3 to 6 percent of intra city Non-AC diesel buses and mini buses.
According to a notification of Transport Department fare of intercity diesel Non-AC bus and mini bus has been fixed 1.06 rupees per kilometer on Metalled Plain Road, 1.11 rupees per kilometer on Kacha Plain Roads while 1.16 rupees per kilometer in hilly areas.
According to notification new fares of intra city Non-AC diesel buses and mini buses have been fixed after reduction of one rupee upto six different stages/stops. According to new fares Rs. 16 have been fixed upto four kilometers, Rs. 21 from 4.1 to eight kilometers, Rs. 25 from 8.1 kilometer to 14 kilometer, Rs. 31 from 14.1 to 22 kilometer, Rs. 37 from 22.1 kilometer to 30 kilometer while Rs. 43 for more than 30 kilometers.
