Lahore: A social media campaign has revealed that Alhara Arts Council had paid 43 millions Rs to 73 writers,scholars,media owners,journalists,poets for stipend to attend the” International Adbi Conference” held at Alhamra Arts Council,Lahore on November,2013.
A letter named with Additional Secretary Finance department Punjab Ali Hussain Malik described that on behalf of Chairman Lahore Arts Council,Lahore Ata ul Haq Qasmi ,the director Alhamra Arts Council Muhammad Ali Baloch and Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi had given statement that a huge amount was paid to the celebrities for attending international conference,in the name of stipend.
The well-known and multi millionaires were also among the beneficiaries including Allama Iqbal’s son Dr Javaid Iqbal,Najam Sethi,Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami,Sohail Warraich, CE Nai Baat Ata ur Rehman,Hamid Mir, Talat Hussain,Mehmood Sham,Iftikhar Ahmad,Hasan Nisar,Saleem Safi,Aftab Iqbal,Junaid Saleem,Yasr Pirzadah,Ata ul Haq Qasmi,Asghar Nadeem Sayed,Munno Bhai,Editor The Nation Saleem Bukhari,Javaid Ch,Nusrat Javaid,Saad Ullah Shah.
