Lahore: Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said the best way to pay homage to the sacrifices of labourers that we should renew our pledge on International Labour Day to protect labourers’ rights and eliminate their exploitation. He said that Punjab government is taking revolutionary steps for providing health, education and job opportunities to the labourers.
He expressed these views while addressing labour convention as a chief guest held in connection with International Labour Day under the aegis of PML-N Labour Wing Punjab.
Provincial Minister for Zakat & President Labour Wing Punjab Malik Nadeem Kamran, MNA Pervaiz Malik, Parliamentary Secretary on Information Rana Muhammad Arshad, President Youth Wing Punjab Mian Ghulam Hussain Shahid, MNAs, MPAs and a large number of workers attended the convention. Muslim League leaders, office-bearers and representatives of labour organizations appreciated the services of Raja Ashfaq Sarwar for taking welfare steps for the labourers, holding South Asia Labour Conference successfully and promoting national harmony and presented a shield to him. Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that final shape has been given to the labour policy which will be announced after cabinet approval.
Provincial Minister Nadeem Kamran said that provision of facilities to the labourers is top priority of Punjab government. PML-N leaders, office-bearers and other labour leaders also addressed the convention and appreciated the steps and the facilities being provided by the government to the labourers.
