Wheat procurement process will be monitored at every level :Syed Haroon Sultan Bokhari

Lahore: Punjab Minister for Social Welfare, Syed Haroon Sultan Bokhari has said that sixteen wheat procurement centers have been set up in Rawalpindi Division where efficient staff is being deputed. He said that wheat procurement process will be monitored at every level and Punjab government will purchase every grain of wheat from the farmers that they could earn due return of their produce.

He expressed these views in a meeting held today regarding purchase of wheat in Jhelum and Rawalpindi.

The Minister said that a bumper crop has been recorded this year. He said that the government has issued necessary instructions to district administration of all districts to complete the process of purchasing wheat @Rs.1200/40 kg.

He said that government will purchase forty lakh metric tons wheat from the farmers. Eight lakh gunny bags have also been distributed among farmers throughout the province which also include jute and polypropylene bags, the Minister added.

Syed Haroon Sultan Bokhari said that foolproof arrangements have been made at all purchase centers. He said that the farmers have worked hard and Allah Almighty has rewarded them with the best crop. He said that abundant wheat will be available in the country which can also be exported.

The Minister said that government has taken a number of steps to strengthen the economy and adopt modern farming methods during the last five years and its results will appear in near future.
