Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif addressed the participants of first Overseas Pakistanis Commission enthusiastically and in a comprehensive manner.
Reviving the memories of his stay abroad, he said that overseas Pakistanis provided him home like environment during his stay in America for cancer treatment. He said that he underwent cancer surgery in New York in 2003 and was recovered with the blessings of Allah Almighty.
He thought that Allah has given him new life for the service to the people and at the time of worst flood in 2010 in south Punjab, he served the affected sisters and brethren round the clock and he had strong belief that his life is dedicated for the service to the masses.
Similarly, during worst dengue attack he and all the machinery of Punjab defeated dengue by working day and night, he added. The Chief Minister said that he could not sleep at a night when Sri Lankan experts informed that the death toll due to dengue can reach 20000.
But due to blessings of Allah Almighty and our hard work, dengue was controlled in an effective manner, he added. He said that setting up of prestigious educational institutions like Daanish Schools for the poor and the orphan children or execution of metro bus project in a short period of eleven months are living examples of service to public and he believes that Allah Almighty has given him new life for completion of this great noble cause.
Shahbaz Sharif severely criticized the policies of previous rulers for showing criminal negligence over Nandipur Power Project and energy crisis said and that this project of national importance was made a source of corruption but immediately after coming into power, our government started work on this project.
