Old Ravians Union organizes Ghazal night

Lahore: The Old Ravians Union (ORU) has organised Ghazal Night at the Government College University, Lahore in collaboration with the university’s Nazir Ahmed Music Society (NAMS). Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman was chief guest at the Ghazal Night which was attended by a large number of eminent Old Ravians from different walks of life.

The former presidents and secretaries of NAMS including Saleem Bazmi, Sajid Ali Fradi, Amjad Pervaiz, Abdul Rauf, Imran Jafferi, Zaheer Abbass, Arshad Khokhar, Faheem Azahr, Muhamamd Jawad, Saad Farooq, Mohsin Abbass and Imran Fida performed at musical night which was the part of the ORU month-long celebrations to mark the GCU’s 150 years of excellence.

Addressing the Old Ravians,  Vice Chancellor Prof Rahman said that NAMS was the biggest teaching centre of music and art in Pakistan as it produced galaxy of stars for Pakistan like Shafqat Amanat Ali, Ali Zafar, Waris Baig and Jawad Ahmad.

Speaking on the occasion, the Old Ravian singers shared light moments that they spent with NAMS Incharge Tariq Farani and cherished the time they had spent in GCU music society especially the dinners they had late night in GCU. They said that GCU teachers inculcated the moral ethics, values and real sense of Ravians’ spirit in them.
