Kh Salman visit balloon’s blast injured at Jinnah Hospital

Khawaja Salman Rafique 27-4-14Lahore: Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Kh. Salman Rafique has said that government would launch an awareness campaign regarding hazards of gas balloons. He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif financial assistance has been provided to the heirs of deceased boy, besides other injured in gas balloons explosion.

He was talking to media after inquiring about the health of the boys injured in gas balloons explosion who are undertreatment at Jinnah Hospital here on Sunday.

Secretary Health Punjab Dr. Ijaz Munir, Prof. Moazam Nazir Tarar, MS Dr. Abdul Rauf, EDO Health Lahore Dr. Zulfiqar and other officers also present.

Kh. Salman Rafique informed that at present 14 wounded boys are under treatment in the hospital. He disclosed that all the patients have been lodged in private ward and best medical treatment is being provided to them under the supervision of Prof. Moazam Nazir Tarar. He said that the condition of all injured is stable and they are out of danger.

On this occasion Prof. Moazam Nazir Tarar informed that a few cases of gas balloons explosion were brought to the hospital every month. He said that during birth day parties, people blast gas balloons by inflaming them with cigarette and match stick as a result of which fire breaks out. He stressed the need for creating awareness among the people to avoid such practice for their own safety. Kh. Salman Rafique assured that he would soon take measures for conducting awareness campaign on this subject.

Kh. Salman Rafique informed that on the direction of Chief Minister, financial assistance of rupees five lakh and fifty thousand has been proved to the family of deceased boy, whereas Rs.1 lakh each has been provided as financial assistance to all other injured persons.

Earlier, Kh. Salman Rafique along with Secretary Health visited Private Ward of the hospital and inquired after the health of patients individually.
