Lahore: On the second day of South Asia Labour Conference, the delegations from various countries presented their recommendations regarding solution to problems being faced by the laboureres in South Asian countries. During the conference, recommendations regarding labour migration, international labour laws & standards, job opportunities for labourers of South Asia in international market, child labour and bonded labour. Provincial Minister for Labour, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and assembly members attended the session today.
Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that South Asia Labour Conference has provided a platform for welfare of labourers and solution to problems of South Asian countries which should be fully utilized. Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi Ministers and other high level delegates presented their suggestions and appreciated the performance of Punjab government for holding South Asia Labour Conference which will help stop exploitation of the labourers and ensure protection to their rights especially in Eupore, USA and Gulf states.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Ch. Abdul Majeed has arrived Lahore to attend the conference. The participants of labour conference visited various stalls set up at expo center. Later, the participants of conference attended a state dinner held in their honour at Governor’s House.
Ministers and heads of delegations from different countries attending South Asia Conference while paying rich tributes to Punjab government on holding labour conference said that this unique conference will leave a far reaching impact in South Asia regarding honourable livelihood for the workers and solution to their problems.
