Anjuman-e-Patwarian called off strike after meeting with Rana Sana

Minister Law with PML-N Faisalabad leadersLahore: A 14-member delegation of Anjuman-e-Patwarian Punjab met Provincial Minister for Local Government & Law Rana Sanaullah Khan at Punjab Assembly today. The delegation announced to immediately call off their protest against land record computerization.

Senior Member Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf, Chairman P&D Irfan Elahi, Secretary Board of Revenue Rai Javed Ahmed, President Anjuman-e-Patwarian Punjab Ch. Abdul Majeed Jatt, General Secretary Malik Zahid Afzal, Member Supreme Council Tariq Javed Gujjar and Patwaris from various districts were present on the occasion.

Rana Sanaullah Khan assured that during or after the process of land record computerization, no patwari will be removed from service. He said that in case of any complaint against patwari, legal action would be taken against him after departmental inquiry.

The Provincial Minister constituted a committee at provincial level for resolving problems of patwaris and three representatives of Anjuman-e-Patwarian will be its members whereas committees were also constituted as district level.

Rana Sanaullah told that there are eight thousand patwar circles in Punjab and government will construct “patwar khaney” in patwar circles. He assured that the departmental promotion of patwaris will be streamlined. Rana Sanaullah directed Senior Member Board of Revenue to send the record of vacant seats to the government. He said that the record of land will be simplified after computerization.

Later, President Anjuman-e-Patwarian Punjab Ch. Abdul Majeed Jatt, said that patwaris are not against any policy of the government and they are bound to implement its every policy. He said that after successful dialogues with the government, Anjuman-e-patwarian Punjab announced to call off their protest.
