Lahore: Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Anwar, while addressing the gathering, said that Punjab Education Foundation is a role model project for the low-cost private schools which has introduced and implemented many useful interventions in the field of school education in Punjab. He asked the private sector to attend to the educational needs of rural population where public sector is not available so that these children living at the fringe of poverty could be provided education at their doorsteps.
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has introduced most-effective, result-oriented and efficient model of free education in partnership with the low-cost private schools in Punjab to educate the deserving students who cannot afford their educational expenses. The partnership has benefited the private schools in a number of ways and as a result, the private sector has been strengthened to play its role.
Managing Director Punjab Education Foundation, Dr. Aneela Salman stated this while moderating the 5th session of two days conference on harnessing the potential of low fee private schools at LUMS today. The conference was arranged in collaboration with USAID.
On the occasion Atyab Tahir, Chief Strategy Officer, Tameer Microfinance Bank spoke on “Financing Quality Improvement through Microfinance Providers- The Changing Legal Regime” while Khadija Ali, Research Analyst Pakistan Microfinance Network discussed the topic of “Commercial Financing Options for Private Schools.”
Syed Hussain Haider dilated upon the topic of “Microfinance Options for Private Schools” and gave a detailed review of interest free microfinance under the umbrella of Akhuwat.
